Unted States Russia Intercountry Committee (ICC):
The chartering ceremony of United States Russia ICC took place at RI headquarters in Evanston, Illinois in June, 08 2007. The ceremony was attended by the representatives from ten chartering districts and RI President William B. Boyd (2006-2007), President-elect Wilfrid J. Wilkinson (2007-2008), President-nominee Dong Kurn Lee(2008-2009) and Past President Carl-Wilhelm Stenhammar (2005-2006).
What are ICCs?:
An intrecountry committee (ICC) is a group of Rotarians, Rotary clubs, or districts, formed by or with the approval of governors concerned, to encourage contacts between clubs and Rotarians in two or more countries, thus developing understanding between and promoting fellowship among the peoples of different nations (Rotary Manual of Procedure 2007 pp290-291)
An intercountry committee (ICC) promotes contact between districts and clubs in two or more countries and increases fellowship and intercultural understanding among the people of various nations. Rotarians are encouraged to create new intercountry committees to foster stronger ties between Rotarians, clubs, and districts from different countries and establish international networks.
The mission of an intercountry committee is to:
1) Build a force that will encourage Rotarians to
visit each others countries and homes;
2) Strengthen friendships and projects by encouraging clubs and
districts to connect with those in other countries;
3) Contribute to world peace;
